We know our customers care about the origin of the products we offer. So do we.
Whether a product is from New Zealand or from overseas, it feels good to know how it was sourced and what it contains. So here is what we’re committed to when sourcing products:
We are a member of the Roundtable of Sustainable Palm Oil.
To belong to the RSPO, companies need to commit to the production and use of certified sustainable palm oil – something which we have made a commitment to do across our brands. Check our progress here.
All our Pams and Value (previously Budget) food suppliers have provided evidence to indicate that 100% of products in the range with palm oil as an ingredient are using palm oil with certification which verifies it has been sustainably sourced. Where palm oil is present, Pams and Value (previously Budget) food products are clearly labeled to ensure consumers can make an informed choice.
Pams is committed to sourcing of sustainable canned tuna products. It is our policy to only source products from fishing suppliers and manufacturing facilities that are committed to long-term conservation and sustainable use of fish stocks, reducing bycatch, promoting ecosystem health and ensuring social accountability.
All Pams tuna is caught by the sustainable fishing methods of Pole & Line, and purse seine fishing that does not employ fish aggregating devices (FADs). Only Skipjack Tuna (Katsuwonus pelamis), universally acknowledged as the most abundant of all Tuna species, is used in our canned range. To assist our customers to make an informed choice, we include information on our label that states the catch method, species of fish and the fishing area.
Genetically Modified Foods
We are committed to the use of ingredients sourced from non-GE crops, and non-GE feed ingredients for animal products. To ensure this, we seek confirmation from our suppliers that all ingredients used in the supply of Value, Pams and Pams Finest products are sourced from non-GE derived crops, and that non-GE feed ingredients are used for animal products.
Where our suppliers are unable to give such assurances, we find alternative sources of supply where practical.
Forests For All Forever
Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification ensures that products come from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social and economic benefits. Look out for this icon on all our paper products, such as toilet paper and paper towels.
