Hot Cross Bun Toasties with Bacon Cheese and Chilli Jam

Take savoury and sweet to a whole new level with these moreish hot cross bun toasties. Packed with crispy bacon and chilli jam, get ready for an epic camembert cheese pull!

Tips & Tricks
For a lighter option, swap out the bacon for slices of Pam’s Shaved Ham!

Ingredients

  • 6 pack of Hot Cross Buns
  • 1 wheel of Pams Classic Camembert Cheese, cut into three slices, lengthways
  • 250g packet Pams Streaky Bacon
  • 2 Tbsp Pams Crushed Chilli
  • ½ cup Pams White Vinegar
  • ½ cup Pams Caster Sugar

Method

  1. In a small frypan on medium heat, grill bacon until crispy or cooked to your liking. Set aside on paper towels.
  2. To make the chilli jam, put the vinegar, sugar and chilli in a saucepan and bring to boil (2 minutes). Simmer for 6 minutes until you have a thick consistency. Set aside to cool.
  3. Keeping the hot cross bun slab intact, cut it lengthways and spread chilli jam over the bottom half.
  4. Cut bacon strips into smaller pieces and place on the hot cross bun bottom, layered on top of the jam.
  5. Add the camembert slices on top of bacon and place the top half of the buns on.
  6. Carefully place loaded hot cross buns in the sandwich press and close to cook. Toast until golden brown and the cheese has melted. Cut, or pull apart, and enjoy!
