Chocolate Dipped Hokey Pokey

Get the kids excited in the kitchen while watching this sweet treat bubble and foam up in the pot! Dip the final product in chocolate and they also make a delicious gift.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup Pams Golden Syrup
  • 2/3 cup Pams Caster Sugar
  • 2 tsp Pams Baking Soda
  • 1 bag Pams Finest Dark Chocolate Chunks

Method

  1. Place a sheet of baking paper into a square or rectangle cake tin.
  2. Add the sugar and golden syrup into a heavy-based, large saucepan. Heat gently, stirring constantly, until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Increase the heat and bring to the boil. Boil for two minutes. Stir occasionally, if necessary, to prevent sticking. Remove from heat. Add the baking soda and stir very quickly - the mixture will froth up rapidly.
  4. Pour into prepared tin immediately. Leave until cold and set before breaking into pieces.
  5. Melt the chocolate in a bowl in the microwave for 2 minutes stopping at 30 second intervals to stir. Coat hokey pokey pieces in melted chocolate for an extra special treat! Leave to cool on a baking paper lined tray. Eat immediately as it doesn't keep long!
